Most people think I’m crazy when they hear I wake up at 3:45 AM.
The truth is, I don’t even sleep much.
I get about four hours of sleep a night, but I’m up early because there’s something inside me that just won’t let me rest.
I wasn’t always like this—it’s something that grew out of my life experiences, out of realizing how precious time is.
After surviving 9/11 and making it out of the World Trade Center just before the second plane hit, my perspective on life changed.
Every minute, every hour—it all became so much more valuable to me.
So yeah, it’s not normal. But after going through something like that, I don’t think I want to be “normal” anymore.
Life is short, and I’m determined to make the most of it, even if it means waking up when everyone else is still asleep.
What's your usual wakeup time?
